Feb. 27, 2008:
Nascimento
Motorsports team up with Tyler Thomas
Tyler
Thomas signs a 2 year developmental deal with Nascimento
Motorsports. In 2008 Tyler will be competing in the Future
Champions Developmental series that runs at Altamont
Motorsports Park for a 10 race series. The series will
include some of the most talented teenagers in the country
between the ages of 14-16. In 2009 Tyler will make the move
to the highly competitive Nascar Whelen All American Series
and contend for both rookie of the year and a track
championship. Tyler comes of the 2007 season with 7 wins, 15
top 10’s, and numerous fast times in the WSRA mini cup.
Clearly a front runner week in and week out in the mini cups,
Tyler and team Owner Eric Nascimento have great expectations
for the future. Crew chief Mike Nascimento and car owner Joe
Thomas have been working countless hours to make sure the
recently converted SRL chassis is ready to go on March 22nd
when Tyler gets his first laps at Altamont Motorsports Park.
“We
are extremely excited that Jeff Macey and Altamont Motorsports
Park have worked so hard to make this a reality for 2008 and
provide a stepping stone for the future” Eric said. “Having
the ability to bring Tyler along slowly this year instead of
throwing him to the wolves in 2009 is defiantly going to be
good for his development.”
Tyler
Thomas will be joined by his 2007 mini cup sponsors:
Centennial Batteries, P-U Propane Inc, Emmick Enterprises,
Loomis Basin and Veterinary Clinic, Superfast signs.
